Cool man. Welcome. You've got an original piece here. I'm having trouble placing it, and that's a good thing i think!!
Just a bit more volume overall... is my only suggestion.... oh, besides, needs an ending, for the Mp3 at least.
Please come back. :)

Thanks. And yeah, I know what you mean. It was kind of a slap together effort on the last couple of days as I wasn't going to enter and then decided just to have a go. I also noticed after I'd sent the entry in that I stuffed up and selected the intro beat at the end.
Thanks again for the input though, being a beginner in tracking any advice on how to improve is always good.

Hello hello, Nice little piece. Nothing too exciting but interesting use of the vsts. I liked your drum use. Simple hats and snares but very effective and drove the tune along well.
Peace.
:)

Hi BruchFrei!
I'm not going to tell you what to do, but i might give you a little tip... "think simple" :)
Lost my focus while trying to listen all the melodies at the same time.
Overall this is a great track for a "beginner"! Good choice of sounds :)

this has got a nice atmospheric vibe... nice string and synth work, it interacts with the bassline nicely. i agree with ambtax about the drums, the snare just makes it bop right along... hope to hear more from you soon

I've heard worse, but you need to put more focus in there - I wasn't sure which part to listen to even after repeated listening. I do like the circular approach though :-) and the instruments are good.

quite nice. didn't really seem to go anywhere though (which i guess is the opposite to my problem - i go too many places!)

Really amazing tune - I especially love how you work with that motif. I just wish it was finished. Can you tell me more about yourself as a musician? Can you tell me about your decisions in this song?

ambtax1: Yeah I was kind of happy with the hats and snares myself except for the rushed mistake at the end.
Aged: Thanks, yeah I see what you mean. The saying works well, sometimes less is more.
Dj_io: There will definitely be more and with each track I do I am always learning something so hopefully I will continue to improve with that.
Techtonic/aGIANTpupafish: Focus is probably one of the main things I have trouble with because I never really have a set plan as such when I do any tracks. I'll just start with one thing and then in my head I will hear something else and just keep adding without any idea on direction etc so all it ever ends up being is just a short repetitive sample. But with time I am hoping to progress with that.
tenfour: Thanks. I wasn't expecting such an enthusiastic response and yeah, I wish it were finished as well, unfortunately trying to cram the making of a full track into the space of a few hours doesn't quite work, not to mention that I still at the moment have trouble finishing tracks due to lack of knowledge on where to go to after a section to get the feel that I am after. As a musician I have mostly just dabbled with playing drums/bass/guitar/recorder/keyboard/violin playing by ear but never properly learning theory other than notes and a couple of basic scales like C Major for example. :P With time/practice and more study I'm sure I'll get there though.
