chaos cross

I really feel stpid talking to myself (again), but this time it's aimed at crosfire, who created the account and the name without consulting it with me. I dont want to sound like a Christian-wise-ass, but personal/emotional ilnvolvement is evil! Is it a norm for you or did you changed for me?

Comment by al_signs_art_thou on 2008-05-26 06:49:26

For you, for you! I don't know if you belong to me but I belong to you for sure (I proved it many times) ;P

Ok! Really it doesn't mean anything "bad" at all.

"Al signs art thou" is an effect of the stat of "enlightenment" in which I was, after ensembling the track. It mens exactly: "All signs are true", but I mutated it a little and it became: "al signs art thou"
Al - means aluminum, magical element also spelled (and spelled indeed) a-luminium. It's also a shortcut of name like Alistair, or Alladin (meaning Al-load-in [this explains the flying carpet ;P and the spirit crawling out of the lamp]) .

art - that's simply "art", or old-English for "are"

thou - is "you", or may be read as "to you"

Chaos cross - is the best symbol to describe the state in which everything moves in every possible direction in "enlightment" outside (???). On the other hand you can crucify somebody on such cross, and that's partially what "crosfire" means (well it really mens - to be under a fire on a front line, but isn't chaos such front?).

love the beats - kept me engaged the whole time. really dark and introverted sounding.

how did you guys divvy up work on this track?

Comment by steg on 2008-05-26 07:36:50

How?, how? - everybody wants to know ;P

Simply, I made the pad part, and some of the beat. Then (I guess), he changed the resolution, made it crispier, and ensembled it in a not-song-like fashion. I don't know about the resolution because I haven't seen the xrns yet, but it would be in hiss fashion. Also the samples and dsp were chosen from track that he previously started.

Anyway, what makes you so engaged? :)) ( a hint ~^ )

i guess i'd say the same thing i'd say about your other beats - i can hear that you gave them the TLC they need.

Comment by al_signs_art_thou on 2008-05-27 04:09:53

"i can hear that you gave them the TLC they need." - do they need it? That's your opinion. I never gave any three or two letter thing to anyone*.

OK, ignoring all the WTF comments above :) It's good to see a return by Crosfire who has been sadly absent lately!
Fantastically intricate beat. An atmosphere drenched with mood & darkness. I would like to have seen some more melodic movement in the second half though, it seemed like it was starting to build around :30, but abandoned entirely in the 2nd part.
Also what is up with the 96k encode again? But if Steg hasn't seen the xnrs, that means that Crosfire also decided to encode at 96k. You guys!!

the beats are pretty nifty and keep things intresting. the rest is kept highly minimal and i'm not that much into tracks relying on up/down transposed chords. the song also lacks some depth and feels very linear, almost like dragged on a cord. overall this is a enjoyable journey, which unfortunately never manages to stop only scratching the surface.

Comment by steg on 2008-05-28 11:55:56

It's crap. It took me two hours to compose it*

*) of course I am not serious ;P

Comment by directionless on 2008-05-29 01:35:02

this collaboration is ordained.

Comment by aGIANTpupafish on 2008-05-29 09:26:04

pretty cool. i too shall ignore a lot of comments im not sure i understand :p really dark, and moody. liked the pads, and the beats, but I feel you could've gone somewhere more with it - if you know what I mean. I agree a lot with keith303's comment.

Comment by andyray on 2008-05-30 17:15:38

that last looping pattern.. hmm... Ive seen that somewhere.. why? nothing else to say here...

Comment by hexmode on 2008-05-31 07:09:15

Wow wicked beats mate.

Great one! - club of anonymous heroine shit fuckers gives you this gold/orange t-shirt. Now you can virtually share their experience.

^ erm...?

a) it's not crap, it rocks.
b) no need for the language
c) wtf?

Comment by organic_io on 2008-06-01 20:38:29

Crosfire, now that I've confirmed that you triple entered this round, I've lost some respect for you. I used to think you were pretty cool, but no more. If you're going to continue to behave this way, I feel no obligation to comment on your songs from this point on.

a) I was waiting for someone to say this (try to figure out who is it), and I'll explain. It was a part of a cheap theater (we all love that). I was talking theoretically in the "name" of guys that pined some of their stuff to crosfire. They also lay those things on his way.
b)Maybe... who cares

Organic io: I am not crosfire - what makes you think so? The fact that we share one ip because we are in one net that doesn't support external ip, doesn't mean anything, and you should know that best. Especially that we could just simply use one computer. We live near, and do a lot of things together (mainly music), it is normal that we host stuff in one place. If you are talking about what crosfire said - I don't really think that he meant this, but I have to ask him (he's not here at the moment, so I can't do it right now).

Comment by directionless on 2008-06-03 13:33:33

*hm yeah. As a longtime moderator on the Zophar's Domain boards, I would say it seems inconclusive, as in provable case in court, that they are one and the same. Thus in that realm of mine, I wouldn't have initiated a 'ban'.

Certainly makes for great cheap theater, as you say. albeit hard for me to understand much of it.

Comment by Sonicade on 2008-06-04 01:37:34

steg/crosfire/al_signs/etc: This isn't the place for cheap theater and multiple entries are not appreciated. We enjoy your music here but please limit yourself to 1 entry per round.
