Authors' Notes

I used all the samples. Also, this is the longest song I've ever written.

Taiyal, hi there. I really got fun listening Your tune.

I like:
- positive mood :)
- crazy, crazy and funny story
- impressive variety of instruments used

I dont like:
- solo since 00:53 - solo part has a responsible role and if You have some madness melodies playing simultaneously, solo part as I think must have some pleasant tune, in other case Your composition sounds little bit weird and even simple-minded.
- I think its too much reverb here
- Something wrong with story You've told: till 02:50 it sounds fun and fast and after it sounds slow and uncolored. I didnt catch the main point, I mean the culmination of entire song. I have seen this kind of story in one exception - game soundtrack. But it must have video-support of corresponding actions there.

In total - nice, funny and positive track.

I actually wasn't taking myself seriously at all in regards to tracking this until the "fast, upbeat" part, hence the super-high reverb (which I forgot to re-adjust) and the weirdness of the composition (admittedly it is a simple-minded composition, as I didn't think it would amount to much more than my previous entries.) Also, 2:50 kind of represents my "crash back to earth" as I realize that I can't keep up an exciting tune for too long without it getting boring. There's a reason for the title "Tracking"... it's a recursive meta-story about me tracking that song.

Thank you for your critique and support.

Wow, you go beserk with that open hihat!
Nice arrangement. Kinda like the up tempo :)
Don't really dig the outro - could be shorter, perhaps just the part around 2:50 - 3:10.

chaos! well, it's entertaining for sure! My impression: start sounds oriental, and it sorta breaks down and goes crazy... eventually it just sounds like a wall of notes... then it gets slow & heavy which makes me really wonder what the heck will come next. The end.

The little melodies everywhere are really cool - really they should be given the space they are demanding. But I think they suffocate, and are soon-forgotten in this tornado of a song. It sounds like you took a 40-minute symphony and deflated it into 4-minutes. ( see and ).

Did you do this in impulse tracker? there's some reverb on this and i thought IT doesn't have effects?

Enjoyed this a lot!

I made it in OpenMPT, like all my other stuff... I just set the reverb in the player options to its maximum value.
Interestingly enough, the first part was intended originally to set the mood for a 'film noir' like song (in c minor).

A tune that puts a smile on ones face :) cute.
The lead instruments saves all up and makes the tune for sure.

Hi Tayal,

I like the lead sound and the chip-sound feeling of the song.
Moreover some passage are quite nice. I think that there are many
potential ideas in this one, but I miss the leitmotif a bit. The central theme.
The big thing. Said that, I know that this is easy said but not so easy to do
in praxis. I often find it diffcult to to concentrate on the whole thing.

Anyway, I think you have improved your skills compared to your last two entries.

No effects used in this track... gives it a more or less naive/unfinished atmosphere but I like the part after 1:15 best - very nice lead / melodies.
