Authors' Notes

This is drum-n-bass track, sometimes repetitive, but has simple and nice melody (I hope) with some distorted "rave" chords, hard basses and modified piano sounds (enveloped with low pass filter) in background.

The work is inspired by the Interstate 60 movie.

Hi Sallecta, haven,t listened to your tune yet, but will answer your question here first:
It's the syn-ax80_st sample, turn off all DSP on channel "airiness" you'll see and hear it's a valid sample =)

A lot of things happen here and it's well knit together. Loved the distorted bass in this. and the "barking" sound was effectful when it "morphed" with the higher "bow"-lead!

Distorted bass is great. Sounds a little 'odd' at times? Possibly out of tune. I'm not sure.
A little lacking in variety for me. Mixing is good. All sounds coming through loud and clear and some nice experimentation.

I wasn't sure about this but suspected it at the place when "beep" melody extends and mixes with piano melody (02:28), but I believe that "odding" is not so disgusting, it exist for the reason to bring some abstraction to the listener for particular moment.

This is pretty amazing. The way things come and go is so effective. The song has a sharp edge to it, but is so subtle at the same time. Nothing happens suddenly or radically. Around 1:39, you start to feel beat 1 drop off more and more which creates tension & movement. You exploit it later with a complementing melody, and later sneak in more detail, and just when it gets solid, you drop in a new harmony to support.

Creative use of effects as a transition in the intro @ 0:21 or so. Very effective and beautiful.

I like the "odding" created by the poly harmony, but I don't think it makes much sense in this song. You do so much to drive forward, create movement, and to my ears, harmony like that stifles movement a bit, asking the listener to pause a bit to soak in the notes. So I think that even though it's artistic and good by itself, it sounds inappropriate in context.

Excellent song; warrants many many listens for sure. There's a lot of detail in there.

I don't mind the dissonances per se, but I wish the song would move more forward with them, or use them more in some way. The stabbing "lead" sound gets a little repetitive, they don't give much room for other things. For example, around 5:15 something arp-like fades in very nicely, I'd prefer that to develop into something more.

Love the intro, but after a while, it kinda stops a bit suddenly. It feels a bit like there is a channel on mute in the beginning but later on I start digging it and could not stop my head from nodding. The DnB beat is well performed and sounds great! Maybe some hook or a melody in the bassline could spice things up more.
