Authors' Notes

So.. we didn't have time to submit this with notes. (for the record we will just vote from the ageDirectionless account and not double-dip on the voting. But I will comment with my account).

This was a total 50/50 effort by aged and I. Upfront I will say I think it has balance issues. We originally sent the xrns back and forth, each contributing a few patterns until it was complete. Like A-Lin was saying, I became increasingly dissatisfied with the original motif I had made after the intro. So in the final day I remade that part. I'm happier with that outcome in and of itself, but there was not enough time for the ears to hear areas where it should be tweaked for a more consistent volume and general cohesion with the rest of the song. I guess we always wish there was just "one more week to make it right".

How the work broke down was roughly this:
aged made intro. I made first motif. We worked together on the transition. aged made the bridge. We worked together on the breakdown/build-up. I made second motif. aged decided we needed to rock out and we each did half of the guitar solo composition after he started it. He also made the glorious "disaster patterns" background accompaniment in the middle of the guitar solo. Then I finished it with an ending.

Most notably (unlike our previous collaboration), the wonderful "are you dreaming" vocals were performed by aged! :)

The tune is all made with samples from the VSTs. Hope you enjoy... and that aged will work with me again if I didn't mess it up too much.

The drums worked well, as did the "guitar" at the end. Lovely work.

good guitar solo! i love the part when the harmonies in the solo get a little bit weird ... even the drums are well done!

Hey, nice song, I can almost feel how the coop brought extra energy into the composition.

- First 10 seconds: some interferences with bass frequencies.
- 2:00: nice change, the energy drops and shift to something else, very well done.
- 3:30: excellent introduction of the guitar solo
- 4:00: a bit weird but it tells a story
- 4:25: nice ending, could be a bit louder

Overall it's pretty energetic and solid.

Excellent journey through an aural landscape :D That tiny bit of vocals makes a surprising amount of difference.

Awesome tune ! Love the U2-style delayed bell-plug-synth sound especially during the intro A LOT !!! Also the eguitar part is quite cool. Everything else is well done, too. A well deserved winner !
